Research Fellow

Hi! My name is Ursula Biba, and I’m a medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. I am interested in exploring how to increase access to dermatologic care and improve care delivery for vulnerable groups, with a focus on how psychosocial factors and patients’ lived experiences play a role in this dynamic. My other research interests include global health and health equity. In my free time, I love traveling, spin classes, and live music.

Hi! My name is Samantha Gregoire, and I am a medical student at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine. I joined the Mostaghimi Lab in 2022, where I have been able to explore my interest in dermatology while learning from our outstanding team. I am passionate about alopecia areata, autoimmune diseases, health equity, and patient advocacy. My interests outside of medicine include running, rooting for the Buffalo Bills, skiing, and listening to Taylor Swift!

Hi there! I’m Katherine Sanchez, a medical student at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. My research interests so far include inpatient dermatology, complex medical dermatology, cultural competency in medicine, and underrepresented patient populations in dermatology as well as within medicine as a whole. When I’m left to my own devices, you can often find me trying out new coffee shops, exploring nearby cities, or lingering in the historical fiction section of a bookstore.

Hi, my name is Eric Xia, and I’m a medical student at Boston University. I joined the Mostaghimi Lab in 2020, where I have been cultivating my interest in medical dermatology and alopecia areata ever since. I am also passionate about cutaneous oncology and health equity, and I hope to continue playing a role in reducing healthcare disparities through both clinical and non-clinical means. In my free time, you can probably find me playing basketball, singing karaoke, or exploring new places and foods.

My current research interests include global health dermatology, mitigating health disparities within dermatology, and better characterizing the lived experiences of patients with dermatologic diseases. When I’m not working on research projects, you can usually find me on my Peloton bike, playing with my cat, or spending time with my family and friends.
